Pasadena police said Thursday they were investigating the case of a suspected drunk driver who slammed his pickup truck into a home.
The 20-year-old driver was heading westbound on Washington Boulevard about 11 p.m. Wednesday when he lost control and careened into the house, police said. A mother and child sleeping inside the home were unhurt, they said. The driver, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital. Police said they were investigating the crash as a DUI.
‘It kind of exploded everywhere,’ Jeff Scott, who works for the contracting company helping to clean up, told KTLA. ‘The truck hit the side of the building, the wall hit a dresser and it actually moved the couch.’
The home was evacuated and red-tagged, meaning it was unsuitable for habitation.
