Wandering through the jungle of television listings, there are all sorts of discoveries to be made, some in the most unlikely of places. Here are six of the weekend’s most intriguing televised games. (All times PDT): SATURDAY

United States vs Germany, 7 a.m., ESPN Classic, Galavision

The Americans, under Coach Thomas Rongen, take on the might of Germany in Suez, Egypt, in each team’s opening game at the Under-20 World Cup.

Tenerife vs Real Madrid, 8:55 a.m., ESPN Deportes

Tune in to see Cristiano Ronaldo and company strut their stuff against the team from the Canary Islands.

Hamburg vs Bayern Munich, 9:30 a.m., GOL TV

Hamburg is on top of Germany’s Bundesliga, third-place Bayern Munich believes it deserves to be there. Enough said.

SUNDAY

Brazil vs Costa Rica, 6:55 a.m., Galavision

If you want to see the future Ronaldinhos, Kakas and Robinhos, just watch the favored Brazilians play in the Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.

AC Milan vs Bari, 11:30 a.m., FSC

On paper, not a great matchup. But David Beckham’s favorite team is struggling and Bari is now owned by American magnate Timothy Barton, who plans to shake things up in Serie A.

Bordeaux vs Stade Rennes, 11:55 a.m., Setanta Sports USA

Carlos Bocanegra, captain of the U.S. national team, finds out whether his fourth-place Rennes team has what it takes to defeat the reigning French champion and league leader.
