Ana Acosta, a 32-year-old Latina woman, was shot multiple times while sitting in her vehicle in the 500 block of South Russell Avenue in Monterey Park at about 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Acosta was talking to a man while her vehicle was parked in the middle of the street. Shots were fired and Acosta’s vehicle traveled a short distance before crashing into a parked vehicle. Paramedics declared her dead at the scene. The man was last seen driving southbound on South Russell Avenue in a dark sedan, authorities said. More details on incident in the Los Angeles Times story.
