Boys’ basketball: Fairfax spring league begins on May 4

Fairfax will be hosting a six-team spring basketball league on Monday nights beginning May 4, with the Lions, Taft, Crespi, Santa Monica, La Canada and St. Francis entered. Games will take place at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

Taft could be the prime challenger to Westchester in the City Section, and Crespi has a group of top young players, led by sophomore-to-be Michael Avery. La Canada also has several promising young players.
