Golf: Venice takes first-round lead at City Section finals

Venice has taken the first-round lead at the City Section golf championships with a score of 372 at Griffith Park’s Harding course.

Hamilton is next at 380 and Woodland Hills El Camino Real 381. Brennan Amirkhizi holds the individual lead after coming away with a 70. The big surprise is North Hollywood’s Brandon Dorsey, who is right behind at 71. At last week’s league finals, Dorsey shot a 104 on the Wilson course.

‘How unbelievable is that?’ North Hollywood Coach Steve Miller said.

The final round is Wednesday.
