Second-seeded Carson will try to win its eight game in a row when it hosts seventh-seeded Locke in a City Section Division I quarterfinal game tonight. The teams have completed pre-game drills and kickoff is five minutes away.
The Colts (9-2) have outscored their last seven opponents 337-90 but will have their hands full shutting down junior running back Tony Bell and a Locke offense that has scored 88 points in its last four games.
This will be Locke’s fourth game against a Marine League opponent this season. The Saints (7-4) beat Washington, 32-18, in Week 3, lost to San Pedro, 36-20, in Week 4 and beat Banning, 24-14, in the first round of the playoffs last week.
