Teachers come to the rescue

At a meeting of the Interscholastic Athletic Committee at Contreras High on Monday morning, Taft Athletic Director Mark Drucker noticed a fire beginning under a sweeper machine in the school’s underground parking lot.

Drucker broke a glass enclosure to retrieve a fire extinguisher and handed it to Contreras science teacher Todd Richter, who put out the fire.

Always count on teachers to come through in the clutch.
