Football: Three Capistrano Valley district coaches are fired

Three former head football coaches in the Capistrano Valley Unified School District were fired Monday from their jobs as full-time teachers in a decision by the school board after a 16-month investigation regarding their roles with a sports equipment company, the Orange County Register reported.

High school coaches Eric Patton of San Clemente, Chi Chi Bienh of Capistrano Valley and Brent Melbon of Dana Hills were all let go.
