Assembly Speaker Willie Brown has agreed to delay introduction of a legislative package designed to deal with the flow of Mexican sewage across the border, so state and federal officials will have time to study the latest Mexican government proposal addressing the problem. “We don’t know what this means, and we need time to study their time line . . . and the technology,” said Assemblyman Steve Peace (D-Chula Vista). “I’ve asked, and the speaker has agreed, to hold off for now.” Brown had intended to introduce his legislative package this week.
