Beck Gets His First Win as Fullerton Tops Arizona, 7-4

Junior left-hander Dion Beck scattered six hits over 7 innings and recorded his first win as Cal State Fullerton beat the University of Arizona, 7-4, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday night at Titan Field.
Beck, a transfer from Cerritos College, struck out six, walked three and improved his record to 1-2.
Keith Watkins gave Fullerton (4-4) an early lead with a two-run homer in the third inning. The Titans staged a two-out rally for two runs in the fourth, with Jose Mota and Shane Turner picking up run-scoring singles.
Turner was 3 for 5 with one run batted in, and Watkins was 2 for 4. Alan Stankiewicz also had two hits for the Titans. Stankiewicz and Mota each have a hit in every Fullerton game.
Mike Schooler, a junior transfer from Golden West College, relieved Beck. Schooler gave up two runs on three hits, walked two and struck out two in 1 innings.
Starter Joe Magrane took the loss for Arizona (12-2).
The Titans continue the three-game set with Arizona at 7 tonight.
