Sunset League : Huntington Beach, Westminster to Meet

Carlos Berceno, scored 10 of his 18 points in the first quarter as Fountain Valley High School raced to a 23-10 lead, then breezed to a 67-50 Sunset League win over Huntington Beach.
Huntington Beach tied for third place with Westminster and will play the Lions at 7:30 tonight at Ocean View in a playoff to determine the league’s No. 3 representative to the Southern Section Big Five playoffs. Simon Thomas added 14 points for the Barons, who finish second in the league with an 8-2 mark (16-7 overall).
John Hanavan had 22 points for the Oilers (4-6, 9-12).

In other Sunset League action:
Edison 50, Marina 47--The host Vikings missed a chance to tie for third place with the loss. Edison, which forfeited five of its league victories for playing with an ineligible player (Baron Coenen) finished its season 1-9 in league.
Ocean View 95, Westminster 53--The victory gave the host Seahawks an undefeated league season. The Lions tied Huntington Beach for third place and will play at playoff game to decide the representative to the playoffs.
