Five Dancers Given Awards

Five members of the Yorba Linda-based Forum Dance Ensemble won top awards at a regional dance contest last month. The five will go on to a national dance competition in New Orleans in July.
The winners, selected at a south-west regional competition held Jan. 6 in San Jose, are Marilynn Allain, 12, of Anaheim; Kristin Chapel, 14, of Yorba Linda; Tiffany Reams, 12, Leland Riker, 13 and Erika Riker, 15, all of Placentia.
The “Danceamerica” contest is sponsored annually by Dance Olympus, a national dance organization.
The Forum Dance Ensemble is the resident dance troupe of Yorba Linda’s Forum Theater. Both are part of the North Orange County Community College District.
