The body of an unidentified man, who is described as having a recent kidney transplant and being about 35 years old, was found on a Crown Point beach early Saturday morning, a police spokesman said. Although police homicide detectives are investigating the death, the man apparently suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, a deputy coroner said. The dead man, who has dark brown hair, brown eyes and a beard, was shot once behind the right ear, the deputy coroner said. A pistol was found near the body.
