Ground has been broken for an 84-unit low-income elderly housing complex at 15207 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, that the Los Angeles Community Development Department says is the last large HUD Section 202 project to be developed in the city.
Under the Section 202 program, rents will average $100. Guests invited to the ceremony included Mayor Tom Bradley; 7th District Councilman Ernani Bernardi; Douglas S. Ford, community development department general manager, and Clark Harshfield, executive director, Retirement Housing Foundation.
