Europe Car Leasing

The article by Sharon Dirlam on car leasing in Europe (March 24) has prompted this immediate reply. . . . If Dirlam has occasion to write further on this subject, I respectfully suggest that she include these admonitions: 1) Do not rent, lease or reserve anything that requires U.S.A. cash in advance and will not accept a major credit card with which you, at least, have some measure of recourse. 2) The above is particularly true when the booking or travel agent is merely a representative of a foreign-based company.

I am confident that our problem will eventually be resolved, but without the help of our German friends we would not have had a prayer.
