Vietnam Reports Shelling

BANGKOK, Thailand — Vietnam reported Wednesday that China fired about 700,000 artillery shells into four Vietnamese provinces during the first half of this year. Vietnam and China have often accused each other of border provocations since early 1979, when they fought a brief border war.
