Vegas Hotel Ordered to Pay Rape Victim

LAS VEGAS — A Clark County District Court jury has ordered the Stardust Hotel to pay $3.25 million to a 32-year-old Chicago woman who was beaten, robbed and raped when she returned to her hotel room three years ago to look for some show tickets.
“The message is that the security of the guests is paramount,” Joseph Cronin, the woman’s attorney, said last week after his client was awarded $750,000 in compensatory damages and $2.5 million in punitive damages.
Attorneys for the Stardust said they would appeal.
