Energy Exchange Awards Four $500 Scholarships

Four Southland engineering students have been awarded $500 scholarships by the Energy Exchange of Greater Los Angeles.

They are: Joseph T. Yang, a Pasadena resident attending Caltech; Jeffery L. Emdee, a Lomita resident attending UC Irvine; Jeffrey S. Briggs, a Los Angeles resident attending UCLA, and Craig A. Scott, an Altadena resident attending UC Irvine.

“The caliber of the student applicants was outstanding this year,” according to Michael W. Pettit, Southern California Edison Co., scholarship committee chairman. “We were very impressed with the academic achievements, involvement in extracurricular activities and the ambitious career goals of the scholarship winners.”
