A 26-year-old construction worker was found dead of a gunshot wound Friday in his car on Regents Road.
Brent Scott Costew, of University City, was traveling north on Regents Road at 3:20 p.m. when his car slowly drifted off the road and hit a parked car, according to San Diego Police Officer Ramona Warnock.
Police spokesman Bill Robinson said that Costew was driving home from his construction job downtown. But authorities do not know if Costew was shot before he got inside his white, 1984 pickup truck or afterward, Robinson said.
Warnock said the San Diego Police Department’s homicide detail is investigating the shooting and is looking for any witnesses.
