Three Are Invited to Golf World Series

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. — Manuel Pinero of Spain and Shinsaku Maeda and Tommy Nakajima of Japan have been invited to participate in the Aug. 22-25 NEC World Series of Golf at the Firestone County Club in Akron, Ohio.
The invitations are extended to foreign players who have won recognized championships the past year. They will join 41 other competitors, including defending champion Denis Watson, U.S. Open champion Andy North and Masters champion Bernhard Langer.
Pinero, who won the 1985 Madrid Open and Italian Open, and Maeda, winner of the Pacific Masters last November, are making their World Series debut.
