Fairchild Industries has announced that President Emanuel Fthenakis, 57, has been named chief executive, succeeding Edward G. Uhl, who remains chairman. Fthenakis had previously succeeded Uhl, 67, as president last May. He has been with Chantilly, Va.-based Fairchild since 1971.
