The Oakland A’s have fined Mike Heath $1,000 for failing to run out a ground ball during Sunday’s game at Detroit.

Heath has been bothered by a sore foot for several days.

“The way I saw it, we were embarrassed enough already (losing, 14-3),” A’s Manager Jackie Moore said. “If you can run 55 feet on a sore foot, you can go all the way to first.”
