Firm Halts Shipments of Deadly Chemical to N.Y.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — New York shipments of methyl isocyanate, the chemical that killed 2,000 persons in India last December, have been suspended temporarily after a tanker truck’s trailer cracked, an official says.
The two-day suspension of MIC shipments to New York was announced Tuesday by Richard Johnston, a spokesman for FMC Corp.
