Fluor Corp. said Wednesday that the Chicago division of its Fluor Engineers Inc. unit received design contracts for two construction projects in the Midwest. Value of the awards was not disclosed.
Chicago retained Fluor Engineers to help modernize the city’s O’Hare Airport, among the largest and busiest air fields in the world. Fluor’s responsibilities on the project include engineering the expansion of the airport’s heating and cooling facilities. The project is scheduled for completion in early 1987.
Fluor’s Chicago office was also retained by Louisville Gas & Electric Co. in Kentucky to design a limestone preparation system for the utility’s Mill Creek electricity generating station. The plant uses limestone to help remove the sulfur dioxide created by the coal-burning station. The work is scheduled to be completed in mid-1987.
