Two suspects were taken into custody today in connection with the apparent slaying of a woman whose body was found in a burning car that plunged off Malibu Canyon Road, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
The woman’s body was charred beyond recognition. A coroner’s spokesman said that if identification can be made, it will be done with dental X-rays.
Deputy Lynda Edmonds said detectives would give no details at this time, other than to say two people were in custody. The car in which the body was found apparently plunged off a cliff about 1 1/2 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway about 3 a.m.
