DISGUSTING DEAL

I was appalled, outraged and greatly disgusted by Robert Hilburn’s article on which pop stars record company execs would draft for their companies for the next seven years (“The Big Deal,” Dec. 15).
Be serious.
Placing groups like Lone Justice, the Talking Heads, U2, and Dire Straits in your Top 20--as opposed to talented performers who have sold more records per week than those previously mentioned can sell in an entire year--is an atrocity!
How can they have the audacity to say “Hall and Oates are like the Reggie Jackson of pop. They are past their peak, but will hold on for a couple more years”!?
They are the No. 1 duo in the rock era; the No. 1 recording act in America this decade; the most successful artists on RCA since Elvis Presley.
