Essence of Vista Del Mar

What a treat to read Gloria Koenig’s comprehensive and exhilarating story on Vista Del Mar (“Vista Del Mar’s Volunteer Angels,” Dec. 13).

When I was a child of 3, my grandmother, who was on the original board of directors, used to take me to the home to play with the children while she attended board meetings. After I married, both my husband and I were active on auxiliary boards, and though we have been inactive for many years Vista certainly holds a special place in our hearts.

Koenig’s story caught the real essence of this most unusual program and I know will be responsible for attracting greater response in the community.
