Fire broke out in an upstairs room of the Motel 6 in Stanton and destroyed the interior before firefighters arrived to extinguish the blaze, a Fire Department spokesman said. No one was injured--the room was unoccupied--but damage was estimated at $9,250. The spokesman said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
