USIU Women Lose to Stanford, 79-71

The United States International University women’s basketball team could not rebound from Stanford’s early second-half surge and lost, 79-71, in a nonconference game Monday in Palo Alto.
The Gulls (22-7) led at halftime, 40-38, but Stanford (13-14) scored 10 unanswered points with just over two minutes remaining to take a 75-61 lead.
USIU’s Toya DeCree led all scorers with 25 points and teammate Sonya Carter added 14.
