Hotel Closes; Site of 1976 Legionnaire Disease Cases

PHILADELPHIA — The historic Bellevue Stratford Hotel, site of the legionnaire’s disease outbreak in 1976 that killed 29 people, closed its doors Friday for the last time. The Bellevue’s owner, Rubin & Associates, plans to renovate the structure into a multi-use building with office and retail space and a small luxury hotel.
