FRIENDS OF ‘HITCHER’

Thank you for your cover stories on “9 1/2 Weeks” and “The Hitcher.” They confirm what a great many normal people realize: that arrogant, egotistical and desperate persons in the movie industry will go to enormous lengths--in time, contacts, finance and taste--in order to make a buck.
In doing so, they will exploit the worst in human behavior, label violence, abnormal sex and degenerate behavior as “art” with “unique and interesting dynamics,” and earnestly attempt to persuade the potential viewer that they (expert, noble, compassionate and creative) are merely exposing our (timid, guilt-ridden, blood-thirsty and stupid) intermost cravings and traumas.
They, and their films, are precisely the reason that at least a dozen people I know have not paid to see a movie in a long time.
