Grammy Award-winning composer Quincy Jones, producer of U.S.A. for Africa’s “We Are the World,” was presented the Los Angeles Urban League’s Whitney M. Young Jr. Award at a celebrity-studded fund-raising dinner at the Century Plaza. “Quincy’s accomplishment in music speaks for itself, and he has actively supported the advancement of civil and human rights for all races, sexes and religions,” said Urban League President John W. Mack. Proceeds from the dinner will provide financial support for Urban League programs.
