Bill Mulligan, basketball coach at UC Irvine, has taken himself out of the running for the vacant USC job. “I’m happy here at UCI and am not interested in pursuing other coaching opportunities,” Mulligan said.
John Caine, athletic director at UC Irvine, said the school is working on a two-year contract extension for Mulligan. Mulligan signed a five-year contract in 1984.
