Santa Ana : What’s in a Name? A Chance for Glory

Attention Santa Ana residents.

Here’s your chance for immortality. Think of a name for a structure that will last for generations and that will be on the lips of thousands of young people year after year.

In short, help the Santa Ana Unified School District come up with a name for the high school that will be built at McFadden and Grand avenues.

“The school board voted Tuesday night to involve the Santa Ana community in naming the new high school,” said Diane Thomas, public information officer.

“The final selection will be up to the school board, but the board wants to get ideas from the residents.”

Thomas said the board is asking residents to send in their suggestions during April. The board will consider the names in May, “and we hope to have the new name picked by the time ground is broken for the new school this summer,” Thomas said.

Suggestions should be mailed to Supt. Edward S. Krass, 1405 French St., Santa Ana 92701.
