Journalists Strike in India

NEW DELHI — A nationwide journalists’ strike shut down India’s 1,300 daily newspapers and four news agencies Wednesday. State-run television and radio were not affected. Journalists’ unions called the strike to press a government-appointed wages board for interim pay rises while it considers demands for restructuring national wage scales.
