SAN DIEGO CREW REGATTA FACTS

The 13th annual San Diego Crew Regatta begins at 7 today on Mission Bay with the first heat of the men’s junior varsity semifinals. There will be a total of 40 heats today, winding up with the Copley Cup race at about 3:15. More than 50 men and women’s teams from throughout the United States, Canada and Europe will participate in the competition.

Where to watch the race: The 1-mile course starts in the bay directly behind the Atlantis Restaurant adjacent to Sea World. The course runs parallel to Ingram Blvd., and finishes just off the shores of Crown Point. Spectator areas include Vacation Isle and Crown Point Shores. A shuttle bus will run from Mission Bay High School on Grand Ave. to both locations.
