FORUM ON WELFARE, TAXES TO AIR LIVE ON CHANNEL 50

A live 90-minute special, “National Issues Forum Speakout: Welfare and Taxes,” will be aired at 7:30 p.m. next Thursday by KOCE-TV (Channel 50). Moderated by KOCE’s Jim Cooper, a panel of community specialists on welfare and tax issues will field questions phoned in by viewers.
Panelists on welfare will include state Sen. Marian Bergeson (R-Newport Beach), county Supervisor Roger R. Stanton, Pat Fisher of Saddleback College Community Services and Jack Gill of the Orange County Grand Jurors Assn.
Among the panelists on taxes will be state Sens. Paul B. Carpenter (D-Cypress) and Edward R. Royce (R-Anaheim), Connie Haddad of the League of Women Voters and Joseph Thomas of Pacific Mutual.
Underwritten locally by the California Community Foundation, the KOCE program will be presented in affiliation with the National Issue Forum, which this year is sponsoring 200 similar town hall discussions.
