Rep. Robert E. Badham (R-Newport Beach) quickly rejected primary opponent Nathan Rosenberg’s request for a debate last week, claiming that there was no point because Rosenberg has never held public office.
Badham aide Bill Schreiber explained that Rosenberg, who is challenging the congressman in the June Republican primary, has often agreed with Badham’s stance on issues.
While Rosenberg said he wanted a debate to compare his and Badham’s records of public service, Schreiber said: “We don’t feel there’s any comparison on their records since Mr. Rosenberg has never held public office.”
