All three candidates for the San Diego County Superior Court seat being vacated by retiring Judge Earl H. Maas Jr. are qualified for the post, according to evaluations conducted by the San Diego County Bar Assn.
But only Municipal Judge E. Mac Amos received the bar’s highest rating in the race for the job. Lawyers rated Amos “well-qualified.”
Deputy Dist. Atty. Charles Wickersham and attorney Thomas Waddell were rated “qualified” by the bar.
The candidates could also have received a rating of “not recommended.”
Voters will choose among the three men in the June 3 election.
