On-Line Software International Inc., Fort Lee, N.J., appointed Howard P. Sorgen as president and chief operating officer. Company founder Jack M. Berdy will remain chairman and chief executive. Previously, Berdy also had the title of president.
Sorgen, now an executive vice president at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., has been the principal architect of the New York bank’s worldwide automation strategy.
