Police are seeking information about a driver who fled the scene of an accident earlier this week in which a teen-ager was seriously injured.
Officer Bob Baumgardner said the driver is described as a male between 40 and 50 years old. He was driving a white Toyota truck with partial license plate number 2TJ4. The last three digits are unknown. The truck had two utility boxes on the sides and an open-ended bed.
Baumgardner said that at 2:10 p.m. Monday the small truck pulled out of a driveway on East Mesa Verda Drive near Adams Avenue into the path of a red Volkswagen bus. The driver of the bus, an unidentified teen-ager, swerved to avoid hitting the truck and flipped.
The victim is still hospitalized at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Baumgardner said anyone with information about the driver of the truck can contact him or Detective Floyd Waldron at (714) 754-5264 or (714) 754-5255.
