Anaheim-based KDOC-TV, Channel 56, will air a series of special Christmas programs beginning tonight at 8 with James Stewart’s 1982 film “Mr. Krueger’s Christmas.”
Additional screenings on Orange County’s only commercial television station will range from animated features to choral concerts with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The schedule is as follows:
--Wednesday: the animated version of “The Wizard of Oz,” 8 to 10 p.m.
--Thursday: “Christmas Is,” animated feature of the boy Benji and his dog Waldo as they journey back to the time of the Nativity, 8 to 8:30 p.m.; “Yeshua and the First Christmas,” documentary view of Christian customs and beliefs over the centuries, with footage of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Narazeth and Rome, 8:30 to 9 p.m.
--Friday: “The Stableboy’s Christmas,” live drama about Christmas as seen through the eyes of a stableboy, 8 to 8:30 p.m.; “The City That Forgot About Christmas,” an animated feature about Benji, his dog Waldo and a town that loses the spirit of Christmas, 8:30 to 9 p.m.
--Christmas Eve: “Mr. Krueger’s Christmas,” 8 to 8:30 p.m.; two choral programs featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir: A Child is Born,” 8:30 to 9 p.m. and “Christmas World,” 9 to 10 p.m.
--Christmas Day: “Christmas Is,” 9 to 9:30 a.m.; “The City That Forgot About Christmas,” 9:30 to 10 a.m.; “A Stableboy’s Christmas,” 10 to 10:30 a.m.; “A Christmas Child” (holiday choral music), 10:30 to 11 a.m.; “Christmas World,” 11 a.m. to noon; “A Child is Born,” 12 to 12:30 p.m.; “Yeshua and the First Christmas,” 12:30 to 1 p.m.; “The Wizard of Oz,” 1 to 3 p.m.
