NAU Overpowers USIU Women, 81-56

Northern Arizona defeated United States International University, 81-56, Monday in a nonconference women’s basketball game at Flagstaff.
The Lumberjacks broke open a close game after switching to a press midway through the first half. Northern Arizona (4-3) forced 23 turnovers and recorded 15 steals. The Lumberjacks got 21 points from guard Mindy Sherred and center Dana Brickhouse.
The Gulls (3-5) were paced by point guard Sonya Carter and forward Dawn Cricklaw, who had 12 points apiece.
