Jordan Again Tells Drivers to Buckle Up

AMMAN, Jordan — The Jordanian government is bringing back a law requiring motorists to wear seat belts just a year after scrapping it, the Jordan Times said Wednesday.
Seat-belt legislation was first imposed in 1984 and then canceled without explanation last year by Prime Minister Zaid Rifai.
Jordan has a high rate of traffic accidents, with 524 people killed and more than 9,000 hurt last year in 16,708 crashes.
