A Normal Heights man was killed Christmas Eve when he was thrown from a speeding car as it careened down the Ardath Road on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 in La Jolla.
The driver, William Francis Turner, 22, of the 2600 block of Monroe Avenue, apparently lost control of the car, according to the California Highway Patrol. He was found dead at the scene about 11 p.m.
Two passengers also were thrown from the car as it overturned and tumbled down the on-ramp. Their names and conditions were not available.
