Anglican Church envoy Terry Waite canceled his flight home to England to stay in Beirut for further negotiations with kidnapers of American hostages. He changed his plans only hours after a meeting with representatives of Islamic Jihad (Islamic Holy War), sources said. “It looked like he has had a breakthrough,” one source said. It is Waite’s fifth visit to the Lebanese capital in his quest to free foreign hostages, including five Americans.
