Chris Evert Sheds Lloyd

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Tennis star Chris Evert Lloyd became Chris Evert again today after a brief appearance in court to complete her divorce from British tennis pro John Lloyd.

Bob Kain, agent for Evert, said that the financial agreement “is being kept private and confidential” and that Evert has gone back to her maiden name. Evert, No. 2 in the world in 1979, the first year of their marriage, ranked No. 1 in 1980 and 1981 but now is ranked No. 3 behind Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graf. John Lloyd was ranked No. 23 in the world in 1979, but is now tied for No. 434.
