Artesia : Mayor for the Fourth Time

Councilman Ronald H. Oliver was chosen mayor by a unanimous vote during the annual reorganization of the five-member Artesia City Council. This will be the fourth time Oliver has served as mayor since his election in 1974.
Councilwoman Gretchen A. Whitney, who has been on the council since 1976, was selected mayor pro tem on a 4-1 vote.
Oliver, who was mayor pro tem, replaces Councilman Dennis R. Fellows as mayor.
