3 Suns’ Players Pass Drug Test

NEW YORK — No traces of illegal drugs were found in the systems of three Phoenix Suns’ players who were tested last week after being indicted on drug charges, the National Basketball Assn. announced today.
The league said James Edwards, Grant Gondrezick and Jay Humphries tested negative. Any player who tests positive is banned from the NBA for at least two years. The three players underwent mandatory urinalysis tests Friday, one day after they and former Suns’ players Garfield Heard and Mike Bratz were indicted by a grand jury in Phoenix. The charges ranged from possession to trafficking in cocaine and other illegal drugs.
