MINEOLA, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man was sentenced today to seven to 21 years in prison for killing a sex partner when the other man disclosed he had AIDS.
Lorenzo Owens, who had pleaded guilty to manslaughter, was sentenced by Nassau County Judge Richard Delin. Delin said he believed Owens was under extreme emotional duress when he killed Kenneth Grice, 24, after they had sex last year. However, the judge said, he could not overlook that Owens later had sex with his girlfriend.
